CHASKA photo

There was some serious energy going on at Chaska last week.
I am not sure what they were doing with the green demographic sheets, but it looks like a lot of fun.  Thanks for the photo!

RULES CHANGE Chart Contest

I want you to know about a rules change for the Chart Weighing Contest.  Since many multi-volume charts are stored in Watertown, ordering and transporting these charts puts an unnecessary stress on the Watertown staff and the courier.

The new rules are going to include just two charts added together, a single volume adult and a single volume child (under 18).  If you have already weighed a multivolume chart, you can mail that weight as a separate item of interest for the blog, but please do not order any more multi-volumes.

Also, I want to emphasize to staff not to identify the names of any patients in discussing or reporting the chart weights.  Thanks!

We want this to be fun, not work.  Thanks for your understanding!

Winner for Songs contest

The winner for the songs contest was Reception and Business Office led by Kristi and Sarah.  Congratulations to everyone who helped with the answers.

Admin is part of this team as well, and I want to let all of you know how much Angie has been doing to help me with the weekly notices and making sure the treat tub is full and goes out to the winning team.  THANK YOU Angie!

This week Angie showed me some fun things Allscripts has given us to give to you.  Look for these on survivor night!

TODAY WE BROKE THE 1,000 VIEWS MARK!

LAKEVIEW SURVIVOR NIGHT    SEPTEMBER 6TH 5PM

I saw Dr. Larson today, and he is working hard on the Lakeview Survivor Night.  Look for a paper invitation soon.  He assured me we will have something for everyone to do that night.  For you folks at Chaska, Norwood and Watertown, I know the 5pm start seems a challenge.  Appointments will stop at 4:20pm, so please just come to Waconia as soon as you can.  Latecomers will be welcomed into the fun.  See you there!

WEEK SIX contest NAME that TUNE

This week's contest is another naming contest.  You have the rules down by now!  Let's hope learning the EHR is like these games, the more your do them, the easier they get.  Answers due Thursday noon, email or fax to Jen on West Station or at jeepsol4@aol.com

Also, I heard that things were looking pretty green around the Lakeview Clinics on Friday.  If you took any photos, send one my way.  Otherwise, let's try to get some good TShirt wearing photos this week!

This week is Name that Tune, sponsored by Jen and the West Team.

Guess the song that goes with the lyrics:

1)    Start spreading the news.

2)    The taste of love is sweet,

       When hearts like ours meet

I fell for you like a child but,

       the fire went wild.

3)    You've been around all night,

       and that's a little long.

You think you've got the right,

But, I think you've got it wrong.

4)    So hard to find my way,

now that I'm all on my own.

I saw you just the other day,

       My how you have grown.

5)    Blame it all on my roots,

       I showed up in boots.

6)    And when she's walking,

       shes looking so fine.

       And when she's talking,

       she'll say that she's mine.

7)    Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me.

8)    She's a good girl, loves her mama.
       Loves Jesus and America too.

9)    Up in the club,

       We just broke up,
I'm doin my own little thing.

10)   Not a worry in the world a cold beer in my hand.

        Life is good today,
        Life is good today.

11)   Just shoot for the stars,

        If it feels right.

        And aim for my heart,

        If you feel like.

12)   Now I really love how your easy to stack.
But I really hate how your easy to stack.

13)   She's got a smile it seems to me,
        Remind me of childhood memories.

14)   I threw a wish in the well,

Don't ask me I'll never tell.

I looked at you as it fell,

and now your in my way.

15)    Jenny, I've got your number.

16)    At first I was afraid,

         I was petrified.

Kept thinking I could never live

        without you by my side.

17)    It started with a whisper,

And that was when I kissed her.

And then she made my lips hurt.
I can hear the chit chat.

18)    Yea I got a friend from New York City,

He's never heard of Conway Twitty.

Don't know nothing about grits and greens.

        Never been south of Queens.

19)   We've know each other since we were nine or ten,
together we've climbed hills and trees.

20)    When I was a young boy,

said put away those young boy ways.

         Now that I'm getting older,

so much older, I long for those young boy days.

TShirt Etiquette

Our Green GoLakeview TShirts have arrived.  We tried to get enough of each size, but if you are having trouble with getting your size, check with Angie in Admin and we will see what we can do.

If you are wondering when to wear your shirt, here is the plan:

WEAR YOUR SHIRT EVERY FRIDAY until the last week of September.

The other clinic wide shirt days are
GoLive Day and Survivor Night.

Wear solid color scrubs/trousers/pants/slacks
with your TShirt.

  NO JEANS, please.

If you want to wear it other days that is ok (just be sure it is clean :-) !

If you don't want to wear your shirt, please wear something in a bright green color on the days I have noted.

And, lastly, send me some photos with us wearing the TShirts.  Just make sure everyone in the photo knows I plan to post it on the Blog!

Week Eight Wrap Up

The Week Eight Tub Treat is being awarded to the Record Room/Coding/Admin team, led by Cary.  Since there was no competition this week, Mel and I decided we should reward the team that has had to deal with the paper charts for oh so many years.  They deserve our thanks and admiration for this gargantuan task, so be sure to give them some positive words in the coming weeks.

During Week Eight, here and there some recipes were shared.  Over in Chaska we thought of Deb Vanderlinde, when Teri D. brought in some of Deb's recipes.  (Deb was a long term Lakeview employee who passed away several years ago.)  Seeing her recipes reminded us of our times together and the special gifts she shared with us.

This week's recipes, AND next week's activity (Slogans, Commercials and Jingles, sponsored by Reception and Business office, led by Sarah and Kristi) will go on the blog this weekend.  Be sure to check on Monday.  I know you are following the blog, as we are over 700 views, and the number one match for GoLakeview on Google.  Way to go!!!  ;-)

Please read the Week Seven notice once it is posted.  Our EHR committee, led by Drs. Beulke, McMichael, Peitersen and Tom Bowman, met this week and discussed our progress including many details that relate to the staff.  Supervisors were there, too, to help plan ahead so each area is prepared for the EHR.  On the Week Seven notice you will find answers to some FAQs, so be sure to take a look! ............After the meeting, when I went to fill the treat tub, look at what I found!!
Computers Have Arrived!

RECIPE WEEK Update

The first recipe has arrived in my mailbox, and I know there will be more.  If your team has a recipe, please send it to me at hill.bonnie@mac.com .  Handwritten entries will require that I type them up, which not only takes a lot of time, but I might change something important about the recipe by accident.  Like a cup of vinegar instead of a teaspoon.  Recipes are due by Friday!
On another note, our computers have arrived.  I can't wait to try mine out, but first wireless needs to be finished and the computer configured.  Once everyone gets to start using the computer and has had their training, we will all feel a bit less anxious!
